daVinci Robotic Surgery – Flint
daVinci Robotic Surgery is a state-of-the-art alternative to traditional open surgery which requires large incisions, and conventional laparoscopy. daVinci surgeries are not performed by “robots” – but use robotics to assist the surgeon in performing complex and delicate surgical procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision.
Traditional “open” female surgery of the pelvic area and reproductive organs requires long incisions – which results in visible scarring, and a painful and long recovery. However, daVinci robotic-assisted surgery only requires a tiny incisions that are only about 1-2 centimeters long. This means almost invisible, noticeable scars, less bleeding during surgery, less risk of infection, and less during the much shorter recovery period.
In addition to being a board certified ObGyn, Dr. Levashkevich is also one of only 7 surgeons in the state to be a board certified sub-specialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. And he is one of very few surgeons in the entire country to hold both certifications simultaneously.
Dr. Levashkevich is renowned for his daVinci robotic surgery skills, which he utilizes for a wide variety of female surgical procedures, including hysterectomy (removal of the uterus); myomectomy (fibroid and cyst removal); pelvic prolapse surgery; sacrocolpopexy; and, endometriosis resection to remove adhesions, lesions, scars, and displaced tissue.
