daVinci Robotic Surgery – Flint

daVinci Robotic Surgery is a state-of-the-art alternative to traditional open surgery which requires large incisions, and conventional laparoscopy. daVinci surgeries are not performed by “robots” – but use robotics to assist the surgeon in performing complex and delicate surgical procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision.

Traditional “open” female surgery of the pelvic area and reproductive organs requires long incisions – which results in visible scarring, and a painful and long recovery. However, daVinci robotic-assisted surgery only requires a tiny incisions that are only about 1-2 centimeters long.

This means almost invisible, noticeable scars, less bleeding during surgery, less risk of infection, and less during the much shorter recovery period.

Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery involves the use of a small incision made around or inside the navel (belly button). Patients may also have other tiny incisions beneath the belly button. A thin camera, and special very small surgical instruments are inserted into the abdomen, allowing the surgeon the ability to carry out surgery with smaller incisions, less pain and a faster recovery.
