Treating your condition and its symptoms first requires an accurate and precise diagnosis of your health problem. At Flint ObGyn we pride ourselves on offering the latest, most advanced diagnostic procedures in women’s healthcare.
Our ObGyns utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment right here in our Flint OBGYN office. This enables our patients to obtain their diagnosis and treatment rapidly, in one convenient location. There’s no more “waiting for results” and you don’t have to schedule separate appointments at hospitals or diagnostic facilities.
In fact, many other doctors send their female patients to the specialists at Flint ObGyn, when they are unable to obtain a diagnosis themselves. This is because we are renowned across Genesee County as the most highly qualified women’s healthcare providers, with the most advanced technologies to help diagnose, treat and manage women’s health issues at every stage of life.
IN OFFICE PROCEDURES
Saline
Endometrial Ablation
Saline endometrial ablation is an outpatient procedure performed in our Flint office, for treating heavy and difficult periods.
Saline endometrial ablation is an innovative treatment that uses heated salt water to “ablate” or remove the endometrium – which is the medical term for the uterine lining. This minimally invasive procedure involves no incisions and you do not have to be “put under”.
After saline endometrial ablation most women no longer have heavy periods, or the pain, cramping and side effects that go with heavy bleeding. Many women even stop menstruating completely.
While saline endometrial ablation can stop periods, it is not a sterilization or contraceptive procedure and you can still get pregnant. Pregnancy after endometrial ablation is dangerous and can cause miscarriage – so you must always use birth control after this procedure.
Colposcopy &
Hysteroscopy
If you received abnormal pap smear results, or you are dealing with problematic uterine bleeding or bleeding after menopause, we offer state-of-the-art in-office diagnostic procedures including state-of-the-art DYSIS colposcopy. At Flint ObGyn we perform both DYSIS colposcopy and hysteroscopy in-house, so you can be diagnosed and treated in the same convenient location.
Colposcopy and hysteroscopy can be used to identify uterine adhesions, polyps, and fibroids, as well as to find and remove IUDs that have become displaced. We can also use these advanced diagnostic procedures to diagnose the causes of infertility or repeated miscarriages.
And, in cases where the colposcopy or hysteroscopy identifies small adhesions or fibroids, they can often be removed right then during the procedure – which eliminates the need for another procedure or open abdominal surgery with anesthesia.
Endosee
Diagnostics
At Flint ObGyn we have invested in the latest, most advance diagnostic equipment – including Endosee. This innovative, state-of-the-art device completely changes the landscape of diagnosing women’s health problems.
With Endosee our ObGyns can directly visualize the inside of the uterine cavity right in the office – enabling them to more rapidly and accurately diagnosis your condition.
A small wand-shaped camera with a slim neck is inserted through the vagina, which allows the ObGyn to see the uterus in real time, as well as take photos and videos of the inside of the uterus.
Endosee is an all-in-one, handheld, portable, cordless device that allows our ObGyns to perform a thorough diagnostic hysteroscopy in just a few minutes. The Endosee procedure is minimally invasive, and involves no incisions. Patients report that it is not painful, and no anesthetic is needed.
